Additionally, entrance is granted on a person-to-person basis, and upon entering North Korea, the entire trip is composed of a guided tour of Pyongyang, with many restrictions.

As North Korea has been suffering from depleting resources for decades, it is not advisable to seek medical treatment within the country. Hospitals within Pyongyang can perform basic examinations and life-saving measures, but if possible, it is better choice to evacuate to South Korea or China. Insurance for Expatriates in North Korea
Most expatriates will want to obtain international medical coverage if residing in North Korea. Medical evacuation is recommended along with a plan that provided global medical treatment. Obtaining North Korea expat insurance for expatriates residing in North Korea will be extremely difficult because of the UN sanctions and OFAC controls.
