Emergency Medical Evacuation

Unfortunately, we live in an unpredictable and unstable world where companies, government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are sending employees to areas where conflict, civil strife and natural disasters can occur at any time. Companies are looking for peace of mind that if their employees require evacuation because of a security event, political eviction or natural disaster, they can rely upon an insurance company and provider to get their people safely removed from harm’s way.

Our firm has partnered with a major international evacuation provider to provide unparalleled international assistance resources at a moment’s notice. We can also combine the security evacuation with group emergency medical evacuation plans. In fact, the plans we offer don’t require you to take the medical evacuation coverage.

Types of Evacuation Coverage Available

Security Evacuation:

In the event of an Emergency Security Situation the carrier will, on a best commercial effort basis, arrange and pay for evacuation from an international airport or other safe departure point. This is usually to the nearest safe haven country. Generally, if an evacuation becomes impossible due to hostile or dangerous conditions, the provider will maintain contact and advise the employer once evacuation is possible.

Political Evacuation:

In the event the government officials of your home country issue a written order that your employees need to leave the host country for non-medical reasons, or if you are expelled or declared “persona non grata” on the written authority of the host country, the security evacuation provider will make their best commercial effort to arrange and pay for your evacuation from an international airport or other safe departure point to the nearest safe haven.

Disaster Evacuation:

In the event of a Natural Disaster the provider will on a best commercial effort basis, arrange and pay for  evacuation from an international airport or other safe departure point. A “Natural Disaster” usually means an unforeseen event occurring directly from a natural cause, including but not limited to, flood, tsunami, earthquake, storm (wind, rain, snow, sleet, hail, lightning, dust or sand), volcanic eruption, wildfire or some other similar event that results in such severe and widespread damage that results in a Natural Disaster evacuation notification being issued by the provider, AND the insured employee’s location is uninhabitable.

After An evacuation: In most cases, the carrier will provide transportation after a security or political evacuation to return you to either your host or home country.

What Else Can Be Provided?

The security evacuation provider also provides a full complement of additional services to the client that includes, but is not limited to:

  • Access to an intelligence database that contains a vast array of real-time analysis and information of countries and major cities around the globe and may be used as a risk management resource to support expatriates, travelers, business units and field operations.
  • Pre-travel reports that provide country destination information
  • Security Analysis that gives you access to up to date in-house intelligence and security experts during a covered event
  • Travel assistance services such as replacement of documents and legal referrals
  • Language services during a covered event
